It's Member of the Month time!
One of our favourite things to do at Parkwood is celebrate YOU, our fabulous members!
This month, the award goes to Mark & Fiona.
Below is their story in Fiona’s own words:
"We have both been members on and off since 2012. Family commitments and lack of time prevented us from being regular gym goers. However, in 2018, as we both approached our 60th birthdays, we decided we needed to get ourselves back into a regular fitness regime. We felt that both the gym and classes offered at Parkwood would be our best opportunity to get fit.
We started using the gym for cardio and adhoc strength training, but both felt we needed more guidance to achieve our goals, and really benefit from our memberships at Parkwood.
We decided to start Personal Training. Mark trained with Charley ahead of one of his hardest triathlons at Alpe d'Huez. He has sustained numerous injuries from playing rugby, so a lot of his training needs to be tailored around these. His overall fitness, flexibility and strength have improved. He also enjoys attending Chris' classes, as he offers alternative options if Mark is struggling with any of his injuries.
I am currently Personal Training with Chris. My running times and distances have both improved, along with my flexibility and core strength. Most of all, my motivation and enthusiasm for training has greatly improved.
We both enjoy the chance to wind down in the steam room and sauna, as well as a relaxing swim after classes - this is another great benefit to being members at Parkwood. This is a great contrast to being put through our paces in Chris' classes - but we do love his HIIT, Circuits and Spin classes!"
